The Heart of the City helps SMEs to do well by doing.
They have supported over 1,000 businesses in London to reduce their environmental impact, support their communities, care for people’s wellbeing and improve the diversity of their teams.
They do this by bringing SMEs together with experts in all areas of responsible business to share knowledge and guidance.
Heart of the City run two programmes:
Foundations for Responsible Business brings together SMEs with experts from all areas of responsible business from a wide range of sectors. Focusing on the areas of people, places, planet and purpose, you’ll learn how to put a full responsible business strategy in place through online workshops, one on one meetings and online resources. It’s free for SMEs based in Camden, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth and Southwark, but open to SMEs across the UK.
Climate for SMEs: 4 Steps to Action is a course for Square Mile SMEs. In four modules, SMEs will learn the basics of net zero, the business case for it, how to measure their carbon footprint, and finally, how to develop a net zero action plan. They’ll do this with the support of Heart of the City’s net zero programme manager, the sustainability experts in their network and the other SMEs on the course. It’s fully funded for SMEs based or operating in the City of London, by the City of London Corporation as part of its Climate Action Strategy.
